TOWN and Create Streets, working with Sunderland City Council are developing a masterplan for Sunniside: a vision shared by the people of Sunniside and a delivery plan of actions partners are delivering across the area that will direct change over the next 10 years. We are right at the start of our journey and we hope you will help us shape the plans, help deliver the change and be part of the future of Sunniside.

We will use these conversations to draw out a shared vision for the area. We know the challenges are complex, building partnerships within the community are an important step to making change happen.

A bit more about the project
Sunderland’s City Plan is to create a dynamic, healthy and vibrant ’smart’ city with greater opportunities for all. A cornerstone to this is to bring a residential population back in to the city centre, offering good homes and a vibrant city life. Funded by DLUHC through the Partnership for People and Places initiative, the Sunniside Masterplan is a pilot to support Sunderland in taking a place-based approach to the regeneration of the Sunniside area. Sunniside is a large part of the city’s urban core and it has an important part to play in the city reaching its potential.
